To reduce the risk of infection we are moving away from paper prescriptions. Please inform the practice of your nominated pharmacy to enable your prescription to be sent electronically. Your prescription request will not be processed without a nominated pharmacy. Due to current pressures please allow up to 7 days for repeat prescriptions to be processed at the pharmacy. We accept telephone requests for prescriptions if patient is housebound over 75 or exceptional circumstances
Repeat prescriptions can be ordered in the following way:
- Royal Mail
- Put your request in the prescription box in Reception
- Online Request using Patient Access Services
You can view and order your repeat prescriptions online through the Patient Access Service (you will need to register for Patient Access account).

You can also come into the surgery and fill out a Patient Access form and bring in photo ID and our reception team will be able to email you your account details and you then be asked to provide a password and your account will be activated.
Any problems with Patient Access they have Technical Support available in the form of an online instant chat or alternatively phone and speak to our reception team who will be able to advise you further.
Unfortunately we do no accept telephone requests for prescriptions unless the patient is housebound or over 75.
As of 4th September 17, pharmacies will no longer able to order prescriptions on your behalf. All patients who are on on repeat medication have been sent a letter to inform them of this, please see link below:
Change to Ordering Medication
Our prescription box is emptied at 9am, 1pm and 5pm please allow 48 hours for us to process your repeat prescription. Any items that your doctor needs to review will not be classed as a repeat prescription and may take longer.
All prescription requests received after 15:30 will not be processed until the following day.
This excludes weekends, bank holidays and any medication that may need further clinical input.
Due to a change in the way we process prescriptions, if you normally have your medication delivered by a pharmacy/chemist, you will now have to contact the pharmacy/chemist of your choice and advise them when your prescription will be due for collection from us.
If you request an item not on your repeat list, the request will be put through but you may be asked to see a GP or nurse before the prescription is issued.
All patients on repeat medication will be asked to come in for periodic review.
For your convenience we now have a dedicated prescription line when calling into the practice of which is manned from 9.30 -11.30 and 14.00-17.00. If you have a query with a prescription then if possible please call at these times, this will avoid lengthy waiting times via the normal phone lines.
Please be aware that repeat medication should be ordered 10 days in advance. Medication that is ordered more than 10 days in advance will not be processed unless there are exceptional circumstances that govern this request. Late prescription requests will not be processed any quicker than the usual 48hr turnaround time unless again there are exceptional circumstances.
Ordering of acute medication or repeat medication that requires reauthorisation may take longer than the 48hr to process.
Patients on stable long term medication may be able be suitable for the batch prescribing, please see attached leaflet for further details. If this may be of interest then please inform your GP who will access your suitability.
