What is Non - NHS Work?

Non NHS work is services offered to our patients that is not provided within our NHS contract.

What services are provided to patients as part of non-NHS work?

This work included the following examples:

  • completion of accident/insurance reports
  • pre employment medicals
  • travel vaccinations
  • private prescriptions
  • access to patient medical records

Will there be a fee charged for these services?

It is important to understand that many GP's are self employed and non- NHS is an extra workload that is not offered as part of our NHS contract. GP's do  not have to carry out non-NHS work, however the GP's at Brookvale will always try to help their patients when they are able to do so.

How much will I be charged?

The British Medical Association (BMA) suggests fees that GP's may charge, however this information is issued as guidance only. Please click on the link below for further details of the fees for non-NHS work.
